give you the best quality. Sometimes it’s quite shaky and even though some of the cameras now have image stabilization. They’re still not great and just what you can do with your arms stretched out like that isn’t that good either so today we’re going to look at this smartphone rig and it’s going to allow you to hold the camera better. So you smartphone is more stable it’s clamped in there really well and then you can add accessories. Things like an external microphone and the external light as well, which means that you can turn it into a pretty good camera ring.

The Grips Themselves Are Big Enough
that you can get a pretty good hold on them and it just feels quite good in your hand. It’s not sort of weighty one way or the other and just. You know a very good little simple device, Yes it’s plastic. You can hear that but it feels solid and give it a good shake. The phone’s not moving out there it all feels pretty good, so let’s get into building this then so the first thing obviously need to do is add the phone in there the phone’s held in with these two grips make sure that you don’t pinch any buttons like the volume bonds or anything like that when you actually put it in there and give it a good squeeze down.
Then Tighten The Back Up And Thatll Hold
it in then if you wanted to you could add the little tripod base on there. It’s got three 3/8 screw points around the side of it. Then if you want to add a microphone on there just make sure that you obviously first thing is that. Your smartphone does support on microphone three-and-a-half-million put. If it doesn’t you might be able to get some sort of converter and then on top of that If you’re using something like the rode mic It’s only got a stereo plug at the end.
So Theres Only Three Sections Of
it. What you’ll need is a smartphone to stereo connect converter because the smartphone connection as you can see here has got four connections to it so once you do that it’ll mean. Then it’s going to separate the audio output from the audio input and allow the microphone to be used that you’ve put on top the light source up here. I’ve gone for the Loom cube. It’s got about ten settings on how bright or dim you want the light to be so it’s pretty good and it’s a really small package or you can put you know.
On If You Want As Well
just makes it a tiny bit heavier so let’s watch me actually using it and then the clip after that is going to be the footage from you using it in a couple of occasions, so now you’ve seen me use it.
