Sugano here In this video we’re taking a look at the 8bitdo Pro 2 phone clip Let’s get started all right to kick things off if you haven’t seen my review on the 8bitdo Pro 2. I’ll leave a link in the description below so you can check it out. In this review we’re just taking a look at the phone clip. The box for this clip is pretty simple and straightforward on the front.

It Says 8-Bit Dough Mobile Clip

for Pro 2. and on the back of this it shows a little bit about the product just a heads up. This clip will only work with the Pro 2 and won’t work with the pro plus inside the box. There’s nothing else but the phone clip there’s no instructions. No warranty nothing else and that’s understandable because this phone clip is pretty straightforward.

The Majority.

This clip is made from plastic except for the tightening screws and a portion of the holder for your phone I was kind of surprised by this. I was expecting the entire thing to be plastic here Given the price point the screws can be loosened up here to pivot the phone clip in two different places. The neck of the clip will pivot as well as the part that holds your phone. This allows a ton of adjustment.

The Phone Clip Is Only Available In Black

and the colors. Don’t really match up with the game boy themed controller. I have I noticed that when attaching the phone holder to the controller. It completely blocks the access for the mode selector so before you attach the phone holder just make sure you put it in the right mode. When the phone clip’s fully mounted it still allows you access.

To The Usbc Port As Well

as the bluetooth pairing button attaching and removing the phone holder from the controller is a pretty simple and straightforward process and one that I really appreciate one of the things I haven’t liked in the past with some of the 8bitdo phone holders is that they’re incredibly difficult to get off the controller here they’ve changed the design of it. There’s a tab on the bottom to make the entire process pretty seamless. Now my phone is a pixel 5, which is pretty light and compact, so for this video I’m going to be using my wife’s phone, which is a Samsung Galaxy S10 plus. It’s a little bit bigger, a little bit heavier than my phone, and it can really put this phone holder through its paces adjusting your phone. In this holder is relatively straightforward.

Theres Two Pivot Points You Loosen.

up the screws you adjust your phone to where you want it and then you tighten them up when you’re done the heavier your phone is the more you’ll want to tighten these screws now shaking the controller around with the phone in it and I noticed something very interesting. The clip didn’t seem that stable and it didn’t really matter how much I tightened. These screws up it still wobbled around with the s10 plus. It didn’t wobble around at all with my Google Pixel 5, but this s10 plus is a little bit heavier note that the clip didn’t release the phone.

The Phone Is In There Nice And Stable.

The clip itself though is not so stable if you take a look here. It just kind of collapsed on me and these things loosened up so the screws themselves loosened up just by shaking it a little. bit to fix this issue and introduce a little bit more stability. I had to adjust the position of the foam clip once I did that you can see here.

The Phone Clip Was Nice And Stable.

There was no more wobble. The phone clip wasn’t collapsing everything was pretty good even when violently shaking the phone and I mean violently this thing wasn’t going anywhere a couple of things to note here. This phone holder does click every single time you adjust it and the click here helps kind of lock it into place before you tighten up the screws to add additional stability and check out the clearance here between the phone and the controller. There is a ton of clearance you don’t have to worry about your thumbs hitting the phone or hitting the phone clip at all.

I Mean I Guess If You Kind

of positioned. it so it was sitting right on top of the joysticks here, But there’s a ton of flexibility so you can really position this any way. You want so it’s comfortable for you and last up. Let’s take a look at the price. So this thing is priced at 15, which is a fraction of the cost of the controller.

The Controller Is 50 Bucks.

This is 15 and in my opinion if you’re looking for a mobile clip. This is 15 very well spent so if you take a look at the price of the controller with the phone clip. You’re looking at a grand total of about 65, which I think is well worth it for one of the best if not the best android controller on the market right now and a pretty darn good clip to go along with it. This is my optimal setup right.

Now My Recommended Setup If Youre Looking

to game on your phone but anyways that is all I’ve got for today. I think 8-bit Doer 8-bit do as a lot of people call them really hit it out of the park with this combo.
