In A World Where The Cameras On

our smartphones are getting better and better every single year. All you really need to take high quality video is some sort of smartphone, But at the same time we have so many companies coming out with tripods Mics, lenses, lights, stabilizers, which ones do we choose. I think I’ve made it a whole lot easier and we’re gonna be talking about the solution In today’s video hey what’s up guys Aaron here and welcome back to another video today on the channel now What is gonna be the solution to the problem that I’m talking about and it actually comes in this small black box right here. Now. This was actually sent over to me by my friends over at Mobo photo and they are actually calling this the world’s first complete smartphone video kit, but what does that even entail well.

Everything In This Box Now Full Disclosure.

They did send this over to me to test out a little bit and give my thoughts to you guys and I wouldn’t personally recommend anything that I didn’t use every single day that myself and I’ve used this like the past four days and I’m gonna show you exactly why before we get into the actual review. If you want to find out some more information about the smart cine, then you can click the first link down in the description and if you sign up there they’ll actually notify you when this goes live on Kickstarter so you can be one of the first on there to pre-order so what comes in this package so first of all we’re gonna have the main section of the smart sending, which is gonna have a lot of different moving parts, um obviously it’s. have the ring light that you can see you can turn on and off. It has the section where you can screw in one of the two lenses that it comes with on the back.

We Have An Adjustable Little Screw That We

can fit multiple different smartphones in which I’ve tried it with all the ones that I have and it’s worked with every single one. The stereo mic on top and a bunch of different switches and modes that we’ll talk about later in this review comes with a hand strap so if you’re clumsy like I am you’re definitely gonna want to include this in your setup as well as this little handle so what we can do is we can actually thread it through put it right on like this make sure our hand goes through tighten it up and if let’s say we’re filming we. drop it? It’s not going anywhere. Smart study also comes with a couple different lenses that you can screw directly into the product. We have the wide-angle lens as well as the Fisheye, which will test those in just a second it’s gonna come with a couple different cables.

So We Have A Uk Cable

so we can go ahead and charge the smart setting without worrying about batteries or anything like that and also a three five to 3.5 cable which is gonna connect the phone to the mic that’s at the top of the smart city, but make sure that if you are a I phone user that doesn’t have the headphone jack. Then you’re gonna want to have the dongle that comes with the UK or you might have to even purchase one of those if you lost it like I did and I had to buy. Specifically for this review, so let’s dive in a little bit deeper into each of the parts that come with the smart city and why I think this is like a revolutionary for those of you that want to take your UK videography to the next level. So first of all Obviously this heavy is like if you can feel this like there’s some weight to this handle on here but the cool part about this too is at the bottom of the smart city as well as the bottom of the handle is a regular place to plug in or let’s Just say you want to connect like a regular tripod or what I was experimenting with was was the gorilla pod is you can just connect it directly to there and you can put it on a regular tripod right at the bottom of the Smart City.

We Have A Uk Cable Input So We

can go ahead and charge this I’m just from a regular wall outlet. Trust me. I have a mic that connects to my camera that there’s been multiple times where I forgot to charge it or forgot a battery or. the battery dies and I don’t even know until halfway through the video and then half of the footage is being usable so I’m glad that I can that I’m able to charge this so it charges the light as well as the microphone up at the top of the stereo microphone. So a couple different settings on there on the left side.

We Have A Headphone Jack.

So you can actually listen to what’s happening live so let’s say you’re doing an interview Somebody you can hear exactly what the microphone is hearing so let’s just say there’s too much background noise there’s too much wind. You can tell that the person that you’re interviewing to stop and then they can go ahead and start once you can hear that it’s a little bit better. I’m over on the right side. We have the align out so this is.

Gonna Be Where We Plug The

microphone cable but you need to make sure that when you’re using the microphone cable. You use the right one on the right side. So one is an input one’s an output obviously and I didn’t figure it out first time and I was like why isn’t this working but one side is clearly labeled microphone and the other side is clearly labeled smartphone so make sure you have those going in the right direction. Speaking about some of the inputs on the microphone on the back. We have a couple different switches.

We Have The On Switch For The

mic. We have a low-cut filter which we’ll look at some examples in just a second and we have a0, which is regular for the mic as well as a +10 decibel. If you are a little bit of a lower talker or let’s. say you want to project a little bit more, but let’s jump into some of the samples here test of the on phone audio. This is the UK 10 other.

Some Win Going On So You Probably

hear a little bit of that as well as some airplanes and some cars in the background. I’m sorry just want to get a base test before we actually connected to the smart setup. So this is gonna be the test connected to the smart city and actually just on the regular on position and not like the low pass or anything like that this is just regular. You’re probably hearing a little bit better. I mean the mic is pointed directly to me so it’s gonna be a lot better sounding quality than just the phone itself.

So Now Were Switch To The 10 Decibel

setting and this is for people that. Maybe don’t project as much and kind of have like a softer voice. This might be better for you, but for me you’re probably hearing me like really really loud, but I’m gonna keep it exactly how it’s coming from camera. I won’t edit it or anything like that right now we’re on the regular flat line setting. So this is without it trying to take out any of the noise and we switch it to the low cut and you might be able to hear a little bit different.

So Right Now Were Testing With A Low

cut and right now we’re back to the regular and now we’re back to low cut and now we’re back to the regular so hopefully putting them back to back right next to each other. I’m can give you a little idea of what it sounds like so obviously. We have the hole that is right here for the different lenses. So we have the wide-angle lens and the Fisheye lens, But even if you didn’t want to use any of those lenses, and you just wanted to use this either as a stabilizer for the microphone for better audio or for lighting. If it’s a little bit dark.

You Can Do That If You

want to use the wide-angle lens. I’ll show you a little bit of an example here. So if you put the wide-angle versus just no lens at all you can see that we obviously have a wider picture. We can see a higher or more of the top bottom left and right. We can see more of the sky in this picture specifically, and then move with the Fisheye lens.

Can See That We Have Just Like That

regular fish eye effect. Obviously, it’s a little bit more wide-angle and you can see the black parts that are around the video. Just like that. You know old school skater boy look of the old school skating videos that we used to know and love or at least me personally because I used to be a skater boy anyway like we talked about a little bit earlier.

We Can Fit A Lot Of Different Devices

on here, so we can screw this all the way down for a smaller phone let’s just say like an UK 5 5 s or we can open all the way up to let’s just say like one of the new UK coming out as well as maybe like the plus model phones and then we can also move this up and down, but I’ve figured. that it kind of just comes down to testing like some cameras like you need to move this up or down or left or right. You move the phone left or right, But you just have to make sure you open up the camera and make sure you kind of position it to where it looks best and you’re not getting any of the sides of this the smart city as well as anything else from like the lens or the fisheye. So it takes a little bit of maneuvering to get the best picture and the last nifty device that we have on here is the ring light and you have a couple of remotes so obviously we can turn it on and this is going to be low, medium and high, but you can’t really test it out until we turn off these lights so let’s go ahead.

  • cameras smartphones getting
  • calling world complete smartphone video
  • cameras smartphones getting better better

And Do That And Well Start It

out on low, turning it on to low. You probably can’t really see much in my dirty room, but when I flip it over to me hopefully you can see me a little bit better, so this is the low setting. This is the medium setting and switching it over to high. So if you’re at a place where it’s super dark and a dark alley for some reason you want to take a blog or if you’re like a concert or a club and you want to get some really awesome footage then of course you can just throw this on make sure that it’s charged and get some high quality lit pictures.

Now Does This Stabilize Your Footage.

The quick answer is no but it does give you a little bit more control when you’re holding it so when it’s connected. On here, you can use two hands and you can physically hold it.
