I’m gonna be doing a review on this universal mobile phone rig and this one is made by small rig and I just picked this up a few weeks ago and I decided it’d be cool to do a review for you guys especially I’ve got a lot of people you know saying.

mobile phone and this might be a game changer for you guys so I’ve recently done a review on a cage that I bought for my DsLR and now these cages what they do is. They enable you to add accessories to your camera system to your camera body so you can add you know your lighting. You can add monitors anything that you want to add on their microphones and it just makes it a lot more efficient in the way you organize your gear on your camera and this is no different guys. This is essentially where you’re going to be using your phone as a camera and you’re going to be attaching accessories onto here just to make your life a lot easier and now with this one. You can really use this as a handle and you can really stabilize your footage.

If Youre Using A Mobile Phone And

this so just quickly you’ve got your mobile phone you’ve got your your cage you stick your phone inside and you secure it using this knurl screw at the top and that is pretty secure in there your phone isn’t going to fall out or it’s not going to go anywhere. Even if you accidentally drop your phone. You have an extra layer of protection on it but um that’s not what it’s for you can always get a case for that so I’m using with this case I’m using my iphone. 11 and it’s got a case on it so and there is still space maybe even if I had the the bigger iphone as well, but do check the specifications to see if it’s going to fit your particular smartphone okay so the first thing I’m going to talk about is the build quality and the finish now. This is constructed from aluminium and it’s made up of four different pieces that are bolted together um and the finish on this one.

I Think This Is An Olive Color, But

it’s almost gray, but it’s really really well put together and and the finish is absolutely brilliant. It does feel like a quality product and it also does look like a quality product. Now if we look at these rubber inserts that we have here that’s going to be used to create your phone so it doesn’t you know scratch. It or anything like that? These are cut exactly to the place that they fit into you know sometimes you get a product right and it’s got rubber in these particular places and it looks like if somebody’s taking the rubber bit and threw it across the room and wherever it lands on a product. It lands but these line up exactly where they should go and that to me is a sign of good craftsmanship okay now moving on to practicality point number two um this one again like I said before check your specification.

This One Goes Between 76 And

86 millimeter in terms of the width of your phone so between here and here if you’re within that range, you should be good to go no matter what type of phone or what brand your phone is saying that though you might want to be mindful about. Where you place the phone exactly it might be in the center or you might have to off-center it depending on where the buttons on your phone fall You don’t want your buttons getting caught in between these areas where the phone clamps or you’ll be clamping down your button and that would not be good for you nor for the phone so you might have to slide this left or right to get away from the buttons so as I said before you’ve got a really good grip on these two. What I would call side handles right here now if you have a bigger smartphone that takes up the whole length of the side, you can still attach via these thread inserts here you can still attach an external handle either on on both sides or just one side that you can also use to stabilize your phone. your footage I mean that is a nice smooth motion apart from that there are some obvious nice cities on this one. We have two cold shoe mounts at the top here, so you can either put you know a microphone on here you can put a mini led light.

For Example, On The Other Side

and away you go you’ve also got quarter threaded holes all the way around this cage. So if you wanted you can attach. You know a mini tripod, a full-size tripod. You can use a light stand with this because it’s not you know it’s not a very big bit of equipment and off you go also inside of the box.

They Have Sent Two Little Velcro Straps, Which

you can use as you know cable tidies just to tidy up things if things get really crazy on your your cage. Also they’ve included. Allen key, you know I’m sure you’ve got a lot of Allen keys lying about if you wanted to dismantle this frame for whatever reason that is now. This brings me nicely on to my final point, which is value for money and I’m gonna say comparatively but not comparatively because I haven’t really seen anything that is quite you know unparalleled with this as yet personally there might be out there but I haven’t seen it so but in my opinion for the price.

It’s a good value for money. it’s just under 40 pounds at the time of this video on Amazon and I mean for the flexibility that this allows you to get with your smartphone and everything that I’ve already mentioned before I didn’t have a problem paying 40 pounds for this one okay and that about wraps up that review but.
