Hi Im Gregg Nibbler For Digital Trends
after a full year without a respectable competitor. The first phone to truly challenge the UK has finally come out and it’s this t-mobile’s G1, the first phone to use Google‘s Android operating system offers an enormous touchscreen 3G Internet and downloadable apps just like its Apple competitor plus a full physical UK keyboard instead of a digital representation of one as you can see it’s nowhere near as slim or sleek as the UK and with more controls as well on the front. You get a three-inch touch screen along with send home back menu and power buttons plus this sidekick like trackball. There’s also a volume rocker on the left side and a shutter button for the camera on the right you’ll notice there’s no 3. 5 millimeter headphone jack on here, though just a mini UK port on the Chin.
Needs An Adapter To Accept Headphones.
The big attraction is this full UK keyboard under the screen. It’s plenty large enough for us, but we didn’t like how flush the keys were with the rest of the phone They don’t provide enough tactile feedback. The Android operating system mimics some aspects of the UK with different desktops that hold square icons for each application, but it also expands upon. For instance, you can make custom wallpapers and place shortcuts to things besides applications like web pages well.

Its Not Quite As Sleek As
the UK. We found it easier to navigate, especially with all the exterior controls. As a music phone. The G1 performed remarkably well.

Youll Need To Buy Your Own Uk
card to get much storage only up to 8 gigs but adding music to the phone afterwards was a breeze and the phone’s included player has a smooth interface that makes it very easy to find what you’re looking for sound quality with the included headphones was also excellent too bad about no headphone jack though like it’s Apple competitor. The G1 also has built-in UK and it connects just as easily. Although the UK was plenty fast for web browsing in most scenarios you’ll need the UK to download tracks from the Amazon store, which we actually preferred to the UK Store thanks to its UK free offering the integrated 3 megapixel camera on the back of the G1 delivered impressive photos with only hints of the blurriness. We normally see on cell phone cameras.
It Takes An Eternity To Record Photos.
So taking photos back-to-back won’t work too well and although a third-party developer might be able to enable it Later. The G1 has no video shooting capability out of the box. We found the G1 to be a solid phone with an outstanding operating system that has a lot of potential.
While It May Not Be An Uk Killer
in its current state. Unless you’re a complete Google addict. We think that future Android based bones will pose a serious threat for more on the G1 go to digital Transcom I’m Greg Nibbler thanks for watching.
